HTML Foundations
Learn to build web pages from the ground up — structure, content, links, images, lists, forms, semantic markup, and accessibility.
Building a website from scratch is one of the most useful skills you can learn — and you can start right now, with no prior experience. This platform teaches web development fundamentals clearly, in the right order, with hands-on exercises at every step.

The four core courses every web developer needs. Each course builds on the last, and all four are built around the same real project.
HTML Foundations
Learn to build web pages from the ground up — structure, content, links, images, lists, forms, semantic markup, and accessibility.
CSS Foundations
Style and lay out pages — colors, typography, Flexbox, CSS Grid, responsive design, and a complete branded multi-page site.
JavaScript Foundations
Make pages interactive — variables, functions, DOM manipulation, events, localStorage, and four complete shipped features on a real site.
Git Foundations
Track your project’s history, work safely in branches, collaborate with pull requests, and publish your finished site live on GitHub Pages.
All four fundamentals courses are built around the same real project — Summit Trail Outfitters, an outdoor adventure company with a multi-page website. You structure every page in HTML Foundations, style the complete site in CSS Foundations, add real interactive features in JavaScript Foundations, and publish it live with a README, a tagged release, and GitHub Pages hosting in Git Foundations. By the end you have a finished, responsive, interactive site visible to anyone reviewing your work.
The STO reference repository is available on GitHub and the live site is on GitHub Pages if you want to see where you’re headed.
Once you have the fundamentals, this track takes you deeper into the modern JavaScript ecosystem — intermediate concepts, type safety, and full application frameworks.
Intermediate JavaScript
Array methods, ES6 classes, ES modules, destructuring, the Fetch API, and async/await — applied to a real expense tracker app built from scratch.
TypeScript
Add static typing to your JavaScript — interfaces, type narrowing, generics, and the AceIt trivia quiz app built from scratch.
Angular
Build full single-page applications — standalone components, signals, routing, reactive forms, and HttpClient — applied to CinemaVault, a deployed movie catalog SPA.
React
Learn the most widely used frontend library — function components, props, useState, useEffect, derived state, custom hooks, and the Context API — applied to ZeroBudget, a deployed budgeting app.
Vue
Build modern reactive SPAs with Vue 3 — Composition API, Single-File Components, Vue Router, and Pinia — applied to FamilyTree, an interactive family tree app.
Node.js
Build the backend — a REST API with Express, SQLite, bcrypt authentication, and JWT — then wire it to a React frontend and deploy both to Railway and GitHub Pages.
The Projects section has larger, self-directed builds designed to stretch what you already know. More courses are in development — testing, databases, and additional frameworks.
Each course is divided into modules, and each module into short, focused lessons. Read the explanation, then complete the exercise before moving on. The exercises are not optional — writing the code yourself is how the concepts become permanent.
